No, it's not going to overheat. So yeah if you can afford the 6950 definitely get it. And you don't need a CPU upgrade. If you upgrade that for overclocking, you'll have to upgrade your mobo too. I would just get the 6950 and call it good.

All Asus Z77 boards have a TB header other than the Premium board which has a built in port. The add in TB card will be around $200.

I don't but it's really a personal preference thing. Warranties are mainly there to make a company money. Also, all of your products are from reputable companies with decent warranties anyway. So I would say no, but if they give you peace of mind go for it.

Just make sure you don't get a green or eco drive. They are ridiculous.

They have no more DOA's than other companies but you hear about it more because they sell a huge amount of drives. The samsungs are good drives too if you don't want WD.
