I've built a 11600k system 5 years ago (it started with a 10600k and I made a swap deal for a couple of beers). It has 32GB RAM and a 2070-Super. I am thinking to get a used 6900xt, 7800xt or maybe even a 9070... But I am scared that this GPU upgrade might not bring me into playing 2024 titles...

Update: I ran 'sfc /scannow' which found some errors and fixed them. The system will still boot into safe mode only and the command lines I've found do not work... But loading msconfig and looking in the Boot tab - can untick Safe Mode and it boots normally. I think I am out of the woods :)...

Update: I am not out of the woods yet but I have some more info for the thousands of people who will update their BIOS and run into this: Apparently, I've installed Windows-10 while my BIOS had "Intel RST" enabled. This is some RAID controller which doesn't make sense if you are only running one...

I agree with you, which is why I am desperate enough to try asking this in a forum. I've actually narrowed it down to the Dell Inspiron 17 7000 or 5000 series myself. Their driver pages look full enough. Money is no object, for the right machine.
