Build Advice How's my proposed server build - - I'm stuck on picking a chassis ?

Are you an experienced Linux sysadmin? If not perhaps re-consider your plan and look for cloud storage where everything is managed for you. If you are an experienced admin you could consider LVM instead of hardware-raid. Also, ZFS has huge advantages if your data is really critical. And like...

[SOLVED] S.M.A.R.T Status Bad, Backup and Replace - SSD

You do not seem to care about (recovering) your data. I would throw away the SSD. Then buy a 250GB SSD or even 120GB for your OS. That should be super cheap to find. Any SSD is better than no SSD. You can buy a larger one in the future if you need for games.

All phone cabling must go, except what is absolutely necessary for ADSL to terminate at this outlet. I will run new UTP Cat6 through the conduits. I just want to make sure I do not cut off too many wires and end up without ADSL.

Question Should we continue using Kaspersky software?

Kaspersky stands out to me as one of the better anti-virus software with a free option. I plan to continue using it, at least for now. I have it on a couple of systems at home. Having said this, your question had also entered my mind, and I plan to keep an ear out for any developments.

[SOLVED] Recently received a 'gaming' pre-built as a gift. Would like to convert it for workstation use.

The CPU and GPU are quite decent. Motherboard limits your maximum memory. Upgrade memory as high as you can. If you need more, consider a new PC and move CPU / GPU as needed. The PSU is kind of low wattage to be adding much of anything else.

[SOLVED] High CFM fan too close to CPU fan - best option?

Agreed, yes just a little worried about wearing out (through over-spinning) my two little Noctua CPU fans. Maybe I will just completely remove them or move them out of the way of the case fan, or at least one of them. Then I can keep that one as a spare for when/if the other one dies.
