Trying to save picture from an old IDE drive

Get a 3.5" Hard Disk Drive enclosure with a USB connection and try that. For $10 to $15 worth the try. Install the drive in the enclosure and then use it like a flash drive

Lost Scanned Documents- Help Needed ASAP

Did you perhaps have the previous printer's software create the "save to" folder for scanned documents during it's installation and then never moved the documents elsewhere? And then perhaps uninstalled the old printer software before installing the new printer's software? This process would...

Why is this so cheap? [need answer in within 1 hour]

64 GB kit has been tested to play nice with each other. Buying the other ram consists of 4 x 8 GB sticks = 32 GB. Unless your MB has 8 slots you can not do that (8 x 8 GB sticks = 64 GB). If you do go this route the sticks have not been fully tested to play nice together. Probably will...

Installed Windows 7 on a new hard drive, now I have 2 W7's on the same computer

Make sure the PC is booting to the new HDD by temporarily disconnecting the old drive and restarting the PC. Once you are happy with the new drive setup then go ahead and reattach the cabling to your "old" drive and format away. As long as there is nothing on the drive you want to keep (data...

PC will not start after CMOS reset.

You need to reenter all of your PC hardware settings (CPU, drives boot order, memory settings etc.), or at least verify the system has auto-detected all of that "minor" details correctly.

looking for help with my computer

What type of PC? Laptop? Desktop? In any case..., can you see the HDDs in the BIOS? If not then check cabling (power and data to both HDDs). If so, what happens when you start up in safe mode?

Can i use a old 1tb Hard drive?

If any of the games and software were actually installed (not just downloaded then they will in many cases not be usable as you will lose much of the installation configuration with the OS replacement (registry keys etc). If you still have the original downloads on the HDD, then after the OS is...

New OEM win 7 OS for new mobo/cpu?

The installation disc will give you the option of formatting the drive by using the custom install route. Do so. Remember though that it wipes everything so make sure all you want to keep is elsewhere. With apologies to Tom's as I could not find their version of instructions...

New OEM win 7 OS for new mobo/cpu?

You can not plug your old HDD (with the existing Win 7 installation) into the new PC setup and expect it to work. It will not as the old OS installation is configured for the old PC motherboard. It will crash and burn with the new motherboard As far as legality issues, you can not reinstall...

PC doesnt power on after power outage

Is the power box thing you refer to the component the electricity from the wall goes into?. That's the power supply. Give your old power supply unit (PSU) the sniff test. Smell burnt components? Definitely replace it. Don't smell anything? Replace it anyway and hope nothing else in the...

Legacy PCI needs to be turned on...

Completely uninstall all the video drivers (both sets - MB video driver and the new drivers) and restart the PC. Let the OS detect the new card and install it's drivers then reinstall the card's specific driver set again (making sure it is the right one for the operating system, 32 bit vs 64 bit).

    best graphics card for $50

That CPU is almost 10 year old technology. That will limit what benefits a newer card can provide to your system. Can you get something second hand (used)? Go for the newest model card you can afford used but be aware of the CPU limitation. Even then you might be disappointed at game quality...
