I don't watch the ads. I mute the volume and simply stare at the bottom right corner until the Skip button appears and click it, so I have no idea what the ad is trying to sell me. If a YouTuber includes ads in their stream I skip forward 30 seconds. I'm looking for information, not to be sold...
