This only happens when I shutdown my computer, sometimes the spinning logo will get stuck and it won't turn off or it will proceed and the displays will turn off but the computer itself stays on (assuming still stuck in shutdown). This doesn't happen everytime but I would like to find out if...

Well HDD's dont last forever, and i know from experience strange sounds is a bad sign. if its being slower than usual thats also a sign or freezes often. i do suggest right click properties on ur hard drive and under tools check ur disk for errors. look into replacing it as well.
