Yup, tried with both sticks in single mode and neither worked. Tested my speaker on a functional system and got a beep. Time to exchange the mobo for a new one.

That's what I suspected, but have been grasping at straws. It does sound like a mobo problem. I tried 1-4 with no luck. I may attempt to get a new mobo speaker - the one I'm using is several years old. Thanks!
