Frame counter high but actual frames are low

By the sound of it your graphics.card can output 120frames but your monitor isnt showing it. If your monitor displays 60fps then you got a 60hz monitor. Meaning it can refresh 60 frames per second. You should buy a 120hz monitor instead.

Anti Aliasing (What is the point)

I've been pondering with this question for years. I never asked before online to a crowd. I just joined to open up a whole different question and just thought about my problems with AA. Well, not "problems" but I do find AA a big nuisance. First of all, I must admit that initially I couldn't...

    Oil cooled powersupply.

haha, I didn't misunderstood you. I was just vague myself. I was talking in first person because I will make a heatsink. Obviously you made a waterblock. Your probably right that it will not cost me as much effort considering the complications you had to work with. But I have never made a...

    Oil cooled powersupply.

Oh the 140mm fans are quiet alright. If required they'll satisfy me any day, any time. but if the design objective simply allows a fan no matter how badly I wan't it not then I have no alternative but to give in. But as for my design goal, it's my objective to be kind of bitchy about one or two...

    Oil cooled powersupply.

I should have mentioned the Mac pro as a example much earlier in this thread. Probably because I'm not a mac fan like yourself apparently :p Admittedly, in the same breath I can't admit that some of their designs spark creativity (apparently) Yes, it's the same idea. Although I must add to it...

    Oil cooled powersupply.

Very great links you got there. The idea is exactly the same, besides looks though. I have fine carpentry skills and I'll be usng plexiglass for windows. My idea is to make a cilindrical case on supported legs. I'm going to experiment several design when I go about constructing things. With the...

    Oil cooled powersupply.

Yes I was aware of the properties of oil causing those problems. It's why I initially asked on the type of pumps and tubing I would need. The way I get it thus far, there might be better alternatives. Another issue with oil cooling would be to keep it oil tight especially at the sockets for the...

    Oil cooled powersupply.

@Someone Somewhere Hey! I was thinking about augmenting heatsinks in combination with the airflow of the dual 230mm fans. I'm not to sure how I would go about it yet but I have ideas. The whole point here is, does it create enough displacement of air. Or is a fast displacement of air with a...

    Oil cooled powersupply.

Thanks for the advice. I wasn't seriously considering the Enermax as a first option, atleast not after your detailed explanation of actual power consumption. I only mentioned it since it seems the most powerfull passive power supply. A power supply fan is controlled based on the power output...

Ok, then the available passive psu is sufficient and I will use it. Thanks for the help.

    Oil cooled powersupply.

The system is going to be used extensively under load, and I will attempt to overclock both cpu and gpu. According to http://outervision.com/power-supply-calculator Under total load I would need just under 600 watt and 650 watt is what they recommend. I thought I had to cover the max load power...

    Oil cooled powersupply.

The thing is, my little project requires a certain amount of juice. I estimated about 600-700watt. It will be using a i7. and a GTX 1080. Alot of other onboard peripherals like a soundcard, several HDDs and SSDs, blueray drive and watercooling. The strongest passive PSU that I can find is the...

    Oil cooled powersupply.

I'm trying to devise a desktop mini atx setup with a custom build case. With the intention of trying to create a compact desktop that is supposed to be very silent. The CPU and GPU components will be water cooled. The case is sandwiched in between 2x 2x140mm Alphacool radiators with Bitfenix 2...
