Having more FPS than Refresh rate cause tearing?

Does that mean if someone buys a Titan X or a 1080 GPU and has a very high quality monitor but with refresh rate of 120 Hz, they would be limited to 120 FPS? Else they'll have screen tearing? Also, if that's true, how do reviewers test games on a GPU without VSync enabled and how are they able...

Having more FPS than Refresh rate cause tearing?

Will there always be screen tearing while playing games at FPS more than the refresh rate of the Monitor? For e.g. I have a monitor with refresh rate of 60Hz, and I have to enable VSync so that my games are limited to 60 FPS. If I turn off VSync, I always get screen tearing.

    Help 24.0 GB (15.9GB) usable

As I said, its a problem of mismatched RAM timings. You'll manually need to set the RAM timings to 1600 in the BIOS. Once you are able to do that, reply, and we will work on getting a proper timing (Overclocking the RAMs with 1600) :)

Fx 8350 won't downclock when idle

FML! Just changed the power option to balanced instead of high performance, and now it downclocks when Idle. However, its strange that the "Auto" setting in BIOS was overriding the high performance settings, as in, the CPU would downclock when idle whereas it wasn't suppose to!

Fx 8350 won't downclock when idle

MoBo: Asus M5a97 evo r2.0 CPU: Fx 8350 I used to have a fx 6300 CPU, and I overclocked it just by changing the CPU ratio to 20.5 to give 4.1Ghz stable. However, it did downclock to 1.4G/1.5hz when idle. Now I have 8350, again I tired to change the CPU ratio to 21 and it did clock to 4.2Ghz...

Then its definitely not the RAM. Might be a problem with CPU configuration. Better to reset BIOS by clearing the CMOS.

    Need help Overclocking Fx 8350

MoBo: Asus M5a97 Evo R2.0 CPU Cooler: CM Hyper Evo 212 CPU: Fx 8350 Was excited when I received my 8350, thinking I'll OC it to 4.5Ghz and stay there. Before this I had Fx 6300, and I had OC'd it to 4.1Ghz just by increasing the CPU ratio to 21(maybe, don't remember the exact number). It was...

    Is my HDD failing?

As I was checking HWInfo64, it showed a Yellow exclamation mark on my HDD. On checking further, I see the following errors: "[05] Reallocated Sector Count:100/36, Worst: 100 (Data = 22)" Should I be concerned? Any way to rectify this error?

    Disabling C1E crashes game

Hi, MoBo: Asus M5a97 Evo R2.0 I encountered a strange problem today. Swaped out my Fx 6300 with Fx 8350. OCd it to 4500Mhz by setting CPU Ratio to 22.5. (Previously had 6300 OCd to 4100Mhz) Also, I have always had advanced CPU configuration to auto. But today, after watching a OC video, I...

[SOLVED] New build randomly freezing - Tried everything with no avail!!!

Also, this might be nothing, but a guy had a similar problem of sudden freezes. Here's his solution " Yes, and it turned out my stock cooler for the CPU was not able to handle the CPU's Turbo Cores option... It literally couldn't keep up with cores going over 3.7GHz clock speed. Disabling Turbo...

[SOLVED] New build randomly freezing - Tried everything with no avail!!!

Tru running the computer with just one RAM and see if it works fine. Then replace it with the other one and then try running the PC. If there is problem, it would be with one of the two RAMs. By run I mean stressing out the PC by playing Games and watching videos etc.
