A Preview of the Ubuntu Smartphone OS from CES

I got rid of Ubuntu on my desktop in exchange for Fedora because I didn't like the way Ubuntu was heading with the Amazon connection and Unity (I use Gnome 3). However, even with having tried out plenty of Android ROMs on my Galaxy S 4G, this looks more of what I want out of a phone than...

Samsung to Offer Better Battery Option For Galaxy S III

It's a 3000mAh battery vs a 2100mAh battery, if it's fully charged it should just give you exactly 42% (3000/2100) more battery life than you had before.

Apple Purchases 1,024 Patents From Rockstar Consortium

At least it's a nice round number.

TSMC Contracted as 64-Bit ARM Foundry for Next-gen Chips

I understand that TSMC is a huge company, but the sheer amount of chips they make for multitudes of companies blows my mind.

Yahoo! Releases Own Web Browser Dubbed 'Axis'

Anyone else think that looks a little too much like Adobe's logo?

Samsung Tapes Out 1 Gigahertz+ ARM Cortex-A15 SoC

All of these phones are capable of much higher battery life. I got a Galaxy S 4G in November and with moderate use (games occasionally, texting all day, reading xkcd, googling) it got about 8 hours of battery life, maybe a bit more. Since then I have upgraded roms with a low voltage kernel...

Stealth Intros Palm-Sized PC with Intel Core CPUs Inside

Overpricing aside, I don't know where you got "Palm-sized PC" from. I'm 6'3 and have huge hands, but hardback novels don't fit in my palm.

Ubuntu 11.10 Review: Benchmarked Against Windows 7

I've been using 11.10 for a few months now and while configuring things I accidentally broke Unity to the point of not being able to bring it back without a full reinstall. Rather than go through all that I switched it over to Gnome3. Best accident ever made. Unity was good but had a small list...

You Can Edit 4K Video on a MacBook Air (With a Red Rocket)

Why 4480x1920? That's such a weird resolution. 7:5? Why not 4096x2160? It's about the same amount of pixels (slightly more) and it makes more sense.

The Tiny Cotton Candy Computer Runs Android 4.0 ICS, Ubuntu

So on the previous news, it says it was going to sell for around $200. I know it's not as powerful, but I think a Raspberry Pi for $35 would be a way better value.

Blizzard Introduces BattleTag as Real ID Alternative

And for half a second I thought they were saying you could use your Battletag as a "real ID" in real life. "Sir, can I have your license, registration, and Battletag?"

OCZ Reveals the New Petrol SATA 3 SSD Series

dalauderToo bad Samsung HDDs are now Seagate. And Seagate's had worse reliability with their 7200.11's than OCZ's ever had. I just meant SSDs in my post. Samsung SSDs are designed and built in-house. For HDDs I was partial to Western Digital:)

OCZ Reveals the New Petrol SATA 3 SSD Series

Even if price drops, still won't buy OCZ with their reliability issues. Samsung's where it's at.

Commodore Announces New Quad-core C64x Extreme

JOSHSKORNNice share.I guess I'll have to say it...don't want to but really, I'm curious. CAN it run Crysis? I don't see a dedicated video card. Actually it's not Crysis I care about, it's the newer games...like BF3, MW3, Black Ops. I saw a guy play CoD4 online with an integrated graphics...
