update: I managed to fix it (for now) by cleaning it a bit and reseating it again. DOOM works fine (see video) and GeForce Overlay no longer artifacts. I will update this thread if more problems occur.

GPU temps during FurMark were ~60C and when playing COD/DOOM ~40C. I had issues with CS:GO later that day, but a reboot fixed that(CS:GO uses DX9). Also DOOM uses Vulkan, but you can't change it. edit: Also this weird issue with GeForce Experience started happening right now

True, the only disadvantage to using DVI and not DP is I have to "overclock" the monitor to achieve 144Hz as 120Hz is the "maximum" for this monitor over DVI. Only DP supports 144Hz according to the user guide.

The monitor does have a DP port and I am using a DP to DP cable. It is the 144Hz variant. The motherboard is on the latest bios.
