I would sway more towards the RX 580 as , 3gb of vram is simply just not enough anymore, if you can afford it try to get an 8gb RX 580. Great card for the money imo.

Have you checked the monitors settings on the monitor itself? check for input and select HDMI, plug out all display cables except HDMI.

You're fine dont worry, your power supply should have came with one, the picture you posted earlier is used for converting two molex to pcie, you are better off using the 6 pin pcie cable that came with your power supply. It should look like this...

Gigabyte xtreme all day long, Ive had a rog 980 ti and then and currently 980 ti extreme, it runs quieter cooler and overclocks better. I was an Asus only user for years until I tried the 980 ti xtreme after having lacklustre experience with the rog one.
