    Question Winload.exe Problem

Got it working !!! Very strange. This Dell 7240 has 2 slots for a SATA drive, one for the C drive with the OS and a 2nd that c/b used either for a SIM card adapter or a SATA drive, and I installed 2 512GB drives - one used for the OS and programs, the 2nd for a whole bunch of data/file storage...

    Question Winload.exe Problem

I should be clear when I say the "USB drive" the Windows Installation media is actually loaded on an SD card and it is plugged into the SD slot on my notebook. Not sure if this makes any difference on how everything should work. Curiously instead of using the SD slot, I plugged the SD card...

    Question Winload.exe Problem

The "bcdboot C:\windows /s F: /f BIOS" executed successfully (using elevated CMD). Rebooted (after changing the boot sequence to the C drive) and no luck, got the BSOD saying "A req'd device isn't connected or can't be accessed. Error code 0x0000225 Had to reinsert the USB drive and boot form...

    Question Winload.exe Problem

Ok - thanks - I agree the repair did not work. I booted from the USB that had the Win10 Installation Media and then Repair Your PC, then Diagnoses, then Start Up Repair and after (long) while my Windows started and everything seemed to working well, except I found out that it was booting only...

    Question Winload.exe Problem

Thinking about this a bit more - my guess is that the bootloader is running from the USB, so how do I redirect it back to the C drive. FYI, I am using Legacy boot.

    Question Winload.exe Problem

Out of nowhere my win 10 Dell notebook crashed and came up with the BSOD showing the Recovery error “PC needs to be repaired” – Winload.exe issue… So I used a USB drive with the Win 10 installation media, changed the boot order to boot from the USB, and was able to repair the PC and get the PC...

Question WiFi Bridge + AP Routers with Unique SSID and PASSWORD?

Yikes - OK, I'm kinda following this but only narrowly averting info overload. I've thought of two other approaches to manage when my condo wifi network goes down. Not particularly very high tech or elegant but maybe a more sensible approach. 1) I'm going to find an IT guy (who speaks both...

Question WiFi Bridge + AP Routers with Unique SSID and PASSWORD?

Also I'm going to look into your idea for a dual WAN router, and get my ISP to help me use it in place of the Huawei integrated router - and then set up an router bridge connected to my neighbor which would be LAN cabled to the 2nd WAN input of the dual WAN router -- and then keep my fingers...

Question WiFi Bridge + AP Routers with Unique SSID and PASSWORD?

Great advice (and my head is starting to spin !! LOL). I get what you are saying so I'm going to think about a cell phone approach - no problem using a used android phone and setting up a (data plan) subscription, and then I guess configuring the phones mobile hot spot to have the needed SSID...

Question WiFi Bridge + AP Routers with Unique SSID and PASSWORD?

Many special thanks again. Am going to study up your suggestions. Cheers. However I haven't given up on thinking about the idea of using a wifi extender (connected to my neighbor) , then LAN cabled to a AP router which would then broadcast the SSID and PW that the smart apps are looking for...

Question WiFi Bridge + AP Routers with Unique SSID and PASSWORD?

Oh, and also - it w/b semi unattended. If the wifi goes out after a day or so I can get my neighbor to chk the modem/router, reboot it, chk and advise on the LEDs and maybe in the future fire up and connect some kind of back up network configuration.
