Review Alienware AW3425DW WQHD QD-OLED review: Near-perfect color and premium performance

The density lands at 110. That's perfectly acceptable. Also Tom's always goes over color accuracy, and saying gamers don't care about color accuracy feels like a comment from a decade back. Display tech has come a long way, and some of us use our monitors for both work and play. There's benefits...

News Analogue 3D Nintendo 64 remake delayed again — tariffs blamed for shipment pushback to ‘late August’

DLSS is to help create super sampling without the need for taxing your GPU, it's not the same as upscaling a retro console's native output. The closest thing to that might be traditional AA, but MSAA and FPGA upscaling are used to achieve different goals. In modern titles, on PC for instance...

News Analogue 3D Nintendo 64 remake delayed again — tariffs blamed for shipment pushback to ‘late August’

As the other user noted, it shouldn't be an issue. The main issue is that Analogue make limited runs of their consoles. So, for instance, waiting to see how it runs is pointless: they're not taking any further orders. The Mega ST, Super NT, and Mini NT are all out of production, which means...

These are the peripherals I'm still using, months and years later

Logitech made the G13 as a macropad, which is pretty similar to what Steelseries was doing with the Merc Stealth. Anyway, I would argue that HE keyboards, at least for FPS, are a pretty big step up from practically anything else that came before them. There's a reason why stuff like snap tap is...

AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D vs Intel Core Ultra 9 285K Faceoff — Battle of the Gaming Flagships

It's not stating a gaming faceoff. It could've been worded differently but it's simply saying the respective best gaming CPUs are facing off, it is not specifying games as the metric. If it was saying that it'd be more like "Battle of the gaming CPUs in different titles." As it stands the title...

News Dude, where's my GPU? — Microcenter customer gets backpack-stuffed box instead of RTX 5090

I'd argue that would be a good deal, except 5090 prices on NewEgg are $1000+ MSRP. Not really "free" in this case. I'm not knocking you, but this is largely why I didn't trade in my 4090: the economics didn't make sense relative to performance gain.

News ASRock attributes premature Ryzen 9000 CPU failures to aggressive PBO settings, per YouTuber

These are not comparable. Intel's was their design. AMD's was the result of a motherboard manufacturer. AMD had no issues with other vendors, so it's not something they caused.

News Battlefield 2042 follows Valorant's footsteps, now requires Secure Boot to play the game on PC

What exactly is the logic here? It's like saying car companies shouldn't make cars because people will have accidents. You try to prevent it, not eradicate it. Right? Battlefield's been crashing a burning for a while now from what I understand. Last BF I played was 4 and that was practically...

Review Asus ROG Swift PG27UCDM 4K 240 Hz QD-OLED gaming monitor review: High-end in every way

The low brightness is inherent in current OLED technology. Until fairly recently you couldn't find OLEDs pushing beyond 400 nits, this is why Mini-LED TVs are often recommended for bright living spaces. An OLED at 250 nits full panel is absolutely normal and expected. If you don't believe me I...

Review Asus ROG Swift PG27UCDM 4K 240 Hz QD-OLED gaming monitor review: High-end in every way

These mean different things. HDR10 is a video standard. HDR600/1000 are specs relating to overall brightness. Having HDR10 is useful for media consumption as it's a fallback from Dolby Vision. HDR10 and Dolby Vision are also starting to be looked at as viable HDR solutions for gaming (which if...

Hands-on with Lian Li's Lancool 217 PC case: High airflow, wood accents, no RGB

I'm confused. What's your issue with having an AIO in a high airflow case?

Review Dough Spectrum Black 32 Ultra HD OLED Gaming Monitor Review: Tremendous Performance And Tweakability

It bothers me that Toms published another article about a Dough monitor despite the fact that the "company" is clearly predatory. Read the comments from the previous Dough review...

News Gigabyte RTX 50-series GPUs reportedly prone to melting thermal gel issues

Man, the 50 series is the gift that keeps on giving (me a sigh of relief I'm on older hardware).

Review Arctic Liquid Freezer III Pro Review: The best AIO for Ryzen 9950X3D, and Intel too

These are not the same product. One is "pro" and the other is not. One could infer by naming convention that there are differences, but Albert notes the previous review in his opening paragraph.
