It really depends on what you'll be doing, you might want to say what kind of cpu intensive programs you'll be running. I know next to nothing about this so I'm not gonna spout nonsense but some extra info would really help somebody who does know.

Bitfenix says any cpu cooler that is up to 160mm so if you could tell me what socket type your motherboard is I could probably find something good if you gave me a budget

To be honest, I'd prefer a i5 6500 because the extra ~500mhz on the base clock is really helpful in cpu reliant apps and games. The i5 6400 is really good though and I don't see it bottle necking your gpu (when you get it). If the guy is legit and like sizzling said, the gpu you want will fit...
