News Core Ultra 5 245HX blasts past desktop counterpart in PassMark — mobile Arrow Lake chip is up to 40% faster than the Core i5-14500HX

Makes sense. 245 has a PL2 of 121W, whereas the HX SKU has a PL2 of 160W. Single core is a little ??? though.

News Intel might axe the 18A process node for foundry customers, essentially leaving TSMC with no rival — Intel reportedly to focus on 14A

Intel has been saying since Foundry Direct Connect that 18A is a mostly internal node, and that 18A-P is what customers were more interested in. This isn't really news?

News Intel's new ‘no frills, just thrills’ budget gaming CPU leaked — Intel Core 5 120F finally brings Bartlett Lake to gaming rigs

5700X3D already lost to 12700K, at best this will be a 12600K with only 6 cores.

News Intel's new ‘no frills, just thrills’ budget gaming CPU leaked — Intel Core 5 120F finally brings Bartlett Lake to gaming rigs

5500X3D will perform on par with like a 14100F, let alone a 12400F or 7500F. 5500X3D is pointless. This, on the other hand, could have some legs if the price is right. Needs to be sub $120

News Intel Nova Lake CPUs reportedly get a GPU overhaul — Xe3 Celestial and Xe4 Druid IPs used for graphics, media, and display

I'd say that improvements aren't what really matters, what matters is that it's there and is able to do all the normal 2D computer things. The fact that it can run games, in the OEMs' mind, is nothing more than an afterthought.

This is the same <Mod Edit> stuff that Nvidia pulled. Can't believe people are defending it. edit: sorry guys :)

News Intel launches $299 Arc Pro B50 with 16GB of memory, 'Project Battlematrix' workstations with 24GB Arc Pro B60 GPUs

They do not share power delivery. edit- the gamers nexus video shows that they're essentially 2 full graphics cards (GPU, mem, PD and such) put onto the same PCB

News Intel launches $299 Arc Pro B50 with 16GB of memory, 'Project Battlematrix' workstations with 24GB Arc Pro B60 GPUs

They have the silicon. Why not put in the software work and take a piece of a much bigger pie than the consumer low-end would ever offer?

News Acer has a new pair of 14.5-inch laptops for gaming on the go

Technically I suppose. Though that'd be even worse for running a dGPU, it's pcie 3.0x4 with Thunderbolt overhead.

News Intel says foundry business won't break even until 14A in 2027

Is it? I'd call a fab division that works so well that it can start producing chips for other people a pretty good proposition for the products side of the company. Having an internal leading-edge fab be in complete lockstep with your design process is any designer's dream. Clearly the...
