Intel has been saying since Foundry Direct Connect that 18A is a mostly internal node, and that 18A-P is what customers were more interested in. This isn't really news?

5700X3D already lost to 12700K, at best this will be a 12600K with only 6 cores.

5500X3D will perform on par with like a 14100F, let alone a 12400F or 7500F. 5500X3D is pointless. This, on the other hand, could have some legs if the price is right. Needs to be sub $120

I'd say that improvements aren't what really matters, what matters is that it's there and is able to do all the normal 2D computer things. The fact that it can run games, in the OEMs' mind, is nothing more than an afterthought.

They do not share power delivery. edit- the gamers nexus video shows that they're essentially 2 full graphics cards (GPU, mem, PD and such) put onto the same PCB

They have the silicon. Why not put in the software work and take a piece of a much bigger pie than the consumer low-end would ever offer?

Is it? I'd call a fab division that works so well that it can start producing chips for other people a pretty good proposition for the products side of the company. Having an internal leading-edge fab be in complete lockstep with your design process is any designer's dream. Clearly the...
