Question Can I run an RX 580 at 75W? (Mac Pro 5,1)

Basically, the Mac Pro provides two mini PCI 6 pin power connectors for GPUs etc. The stock GPU, a Radeon 5770, uses only one of these. Each of them can feed a card with up to 75W of power AFAIK. Because they're an obscure connector, I don't have the cable handy to feed the new card, an...

Question Can I run an RX 580 at 75W? (Mac Pro 5,1)

Hey! I've just bought an RX 580 8GB Sapphire Pulse for my 2010 Mac Pro. This card takes two PCI 6 pin connectors, but as of present I can only power it with one, as I'm waiting on the proper cable to come in from China. Can I use the card with just the one connector, temporarily? It'd be...

Mackie PA speakers buzz when BOTH plugged into mixer,

What type of cables are being used to transmit your output signal? If they're unbalanced jack connectors, they'll likely cause ground issues. Make sure you're using something balanced for this! (Balanced XLR or TRS is standard). This will, hopefully, prevent any issues in the future.

    Audio mixer for church.

Easy-peasy! I would, with all respect, steer away from Behringer mixers... I've had sour experience in the past and they're renowned for being the cheap-o, low quality brand in professional audio. Check out one of these: Yamaha MG10XU - https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/MG10XU Denon...

What do you think would be the best sound system for a Desktop?

It HAS TO BE one of these: Logitech Z906 [5.1] Corsair SP2500 [2.1] I had a pair of SP2500s before upgrading earlier this year and they're frickin' amazing, some of the best PC speakers around. Tight bass, clear mids and sparkly highs. The only drawback for you is that they're 2.1...

Best choice for headphones, primarily used for gaming?

Unfortunately I haven't used those. In part, you're correct. I've always found that a pair of open ear headphones have a more natural sound, similar to that of a pair of well positioned room speakers. I can tell you that those ATH-AD700Xs do have some good reviews and what-not. I've got a pair...

Best choice for headphones, primarily used for gaming?

I know that Audio-Technica make some amazing headphones. Have a look at anything from the ATH-M line. The ATH-M50Xs are very popular, and I've heard great things about those. Let me know if you need more help.

Would this £300 budget PC build work?

thermal compound is a must, or you'll fry your cpu. Make sure to get a cpu cooler unless you're going with the stock one. AN anti-static cable is optional but i wouldn't risk not getting one!

Will my motherboard bottleneck the other components of my computer?

What power supply are you using? If you're experiencing problems that could be the source. In theory your motherboard shouldn't bottleneck the hardware, unless it doesn't have the appropriate PCI slot for the GPU. Any problems with the system to make you ask that? EDIT: Your mobo features a PCI...

    Upgrading Video Editing PC

More ram would be the first point of call, consider buying a 32GB set or add 16GB to the existing set if space is available. I doubt you have enough money if you're on a slim budget, but you could consider upgrading to an i7 chip or an unlocked i5, which you could overclock minutely to improve...

    Windows 10 on my CPU

That CPU is 64bit i believe. To check, open the start menu, right-click 'My Computer' or 'My PC' and select properties. It will say if you have a 64bit processor under System Type. If so, install a 64bit operating system.

    Windows 10 on my CPU

That system would work fine with Windows 10. If it is running slowly, consider alternatives such as defragemening the harddrive or disabling visual effects. Vista is well known for being hugely inefficient and resource heavy. Bear in mind that the free Windows 10 upgrade is available only to...
