RunCore Makes 1TB SATA 6 Gbps 3.5-inch SSD

I'd actually be curious to find out if that thing is TRIM compatible

Rumor: New Windows 8 64-bit UI Called ''Wind''

itookmypillsOK... I'm tired of upgrading and paying Micro$oft every 3-4 years for their new OS. I've switched to Ubuntu and I happier than every with being able to move to the newer versions for FREE. MS really knows how to work people over, as a business, for the most money possible through...

Dell Laptop Uses Intel's New Cooling Design

jimmysmittyHaving taken apart pretty much every brand of laptop and many models I can say this is new, to the laptop market. The original idea was to use a fan to pull the hot air off the components and push it outside. Most laptops would use a single, flat heatpipe that would cover the critical...

Game Stores View Valve's Steam as the Devil

Personally I prefer the retail channel to the DD systems like Steam. Sure I've been forced to use steam to activate and play my Valvegames and it's cool that I can get a hold of a legit copy of Wolfenstein which would be impossible in the retail. However I can't bring myself to spend more than...

Flash Kills the MacBook Air Battery 33% Faster

I can't wait to see someone actually proving HTML5 can be more power-efficient than flash. In the end I doubt there's any major gains appart from not having to pay huge fees for Adobe's development tools

Samsung to Show off Froyo Tablet Next Month?

I got myself a Galaxy S about a month ago and I've been waiting for the Froyo update ever since. If the tablet is shipping with it preinstalled there's at least some hope for an update. And to those who consider Samsung slow in terms of software updates should have a look at Sony Ericsson. My...

World's Greenest Supercomputer is Not the Fastest

joebob2000So the accelerator is there to enhance the operations specific to supercomputing (floating point crunching) and would probably be of little to no benefit to anyone's desktop pc (unless you loved floating points THAT much). Actually I believe the extra floating point performance could...

The Final StarCraft II System Requirements Are...

Well it's great that they made the game run on such modest hardware but I can't help but feel Blizzard have somehow decided that it's "good enough" at this point. After all PC gaming is where limits should be pushed, if I want modest visuals and across the board compatibility I'll just stick...

World's Greenest Supercomputer is Not the Fastest

I'd be interested in finding out exactly could be done with one of those accelerator boards in a workstation running Windows or Linux. Wonder what it does exactly?

QOTD: How Should We Test Rugged Laptops?

a "pressure" test would above all be interesting, stuff gets stacked on top of the laptop with lid closed. Someone accidentally puts a little weight on the stack without realizing there's a laptop under all the other stuff. If the screen/case survives then it I'd classify it as "rugged" in my world.

How to Opt Out of Apple's Targeted iAds

Still no word on how the adds will be transfered to your cell or at what amount. I predict you'll have to reserv a few hundred MBs per month for ads alone at some point in the near future.

Actually been eying Netgear's small Firewalls for quite some time too bad most of them cut out at around 60MBits/s hopefully there will be more capable products like this one coming out soon.

QOTD: How Much Would You Pay for an iPad?

To be honest I can't think of a single "real" use for the iPad so how about "0"?

Is Asus PC Probe II trustworthy?

Super HW Monitor got me the results I was looking for, however do any of you know which temp is which in HW monitor? On my P6T Deluxe V2 there are two values, SYSTIN which is higher(35C) and CPUTIN which is lower (24C) CPUTIN isn't referring to the CPU cores at least as it is cooler than the...
