Well there is really nothing you can do because your Laptop has it's limits especially games like Farcry 4 which is very demanding on CPU and GPU.

Well I had this similar problem earlier with GTA 5 but what I did was I formatted my PC and whoolla..no more lag.

Your Laptop might be overheating. Try using a CPU/GPU meter and monitor those temps

Yes an i3 will do good but you'll benefit more if it was an i5 with that gtx970.

You can try Corsair like the one I'm using which is 4yrs old and still performs well. You can also try Silverstone or Seasonic. Those are quality PSU too.

Well Desktop is much cheaper than a Alienware Laptop with a much better performance at a low price tag

If you really want good decent framerates as what you've mention above try the GTX760 or GTX750 and add your RAM +4gb. However you'll need a good 500W PSU

Do you have mod installed? Is your game updated to the latest version?

Yes you will benefit a bit fps.

It could be that your GPU is starting to fail but just to be sure you could check your GPU temp while playing.

Any thermal paste will do. You should try checking your CPU fan if it is seated properly.

There is a possibility that your PSU is defective. You should try using other PSU if you have a spare one or borrow one.

How about your Power Supply? What kind of PSU are you using?

Have you tried minimizing your video setting see if it fixes the problem?

To start with your laptop is more than enough to play Company of Heroes and even Tales of Valor. 1st thing you should do is patch your game to the latest patch. 2nd update your intel hd 4000 graphics card. Also do provide good airflow on your laptop when playing games cause it tends to get hotter.
