Going over the recommended RAM voltage.

With DDR3, up to 1.65V is perfectly safe. Many higher clocked kits run at 1.65V.

How much difference will it make using x8 PCIe slot rather than x16 for GTX 980 4 GB?

Using the GPU in PCIe 3.0 x8 mode will make no difference whatsoever. Your GPU doesn't need 3.0 x16 bandwidth, x8 is still plenty.

You mean the overlay in the top left corner? That's MSI Afterburner.

How to activate windows 10 after motherboard and hdd failure

If you lost your key and you can't recover it from an existing install (which you apparently can't, dead disk and all that), you're screwed. You'll have to buy a new license in that case.

How to activate windows 10 after motherboard and hdd failure

You should be able to just install Win10 from your flashdrive and use your old key when prompted. You might have to jump through some extra verification hoops, like calling Microsoft's robots (you'll enter a code and they'll give you a code back).

Using old HDD for new pc build w/ SSD?

Glad to help! You can plug in your HDD at any point after you've booted into the new Windows install for the first time (again, while everything is powered down :)). Check your boot order afterwards to make sure your SSD is still at the top. Forgot to put that in the list.

Using old HDD for new pc build w/ SSD?

The reason it's recommended to have only one drive plugged in during Windows install is to prevent Windows from messing up by putting system partitions etc on drives other than the one you want your OS to be installed on. It's rare, but not unheard of. So: - Disconnect your HDD (when the system...

Speakers on digital are hijacking analog output

Hey guys, long time no see. I just bought a set of secondhand Logitech Z-5500's, to replace my Z506's. Sounds great, got it hooked up over SPDIF to an Asus DGX. My headphones are also connected to the DGX, but with regular analog cables. I thought this would work fine: I'd just set the...

I purchased a 4TB HD my windows 7 it see 2TB what can I do to use whole drive?

Go to Disk Management (search for it in the start menu's search bar, it'll show up as Create and format hard disk partitions) and reformat the drive as GPT. That should solve it. Keep in mind that you will lose all data currently on the drive, so back up anything important. If the 4TB drive...

    Stock prime95 test questions

The 84W TDP includes the iGPU. For the CPU without the iGPU 40-50W is typical, which is kind of amazing. You can test for however short or long you like, it's running at stock so chances are nothing exciting will happen. Normal stability testing is a couple of hours at least of Blend though...

First time overclock - i7-4790k + Asus Hero vii

I personally use Intel XTU: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/search?keyword=xtu XTU is Intel's own stress testing utility. It's not the hardest test there is but it does the job. It's also very easy to use. Aida64 will do fine as well, but apart from trial versions that's a paid program now...

First time overclock - i7-4790k + Asus Hero vii

I'd advise against installing an OS with an overclock on anything. If it's not entirely stable and your OS install gets messed up problems can sometimes surface weeks later and force you to do a complete reinstall. That said, being able to boot into BIOS is no indication of stability. You need...

    Weird CPU cooling issue

It sure sounds like a bad cooler. Especially if it's been used for mining it's entirely possible that it's been burned out. It can look okay, but still have a defective fan. Hopefully the new cooler will fix it, otherwise your chip might have gone bad, but that's unlikely.
