    Upgrading From a Pentium G4560

Ended up going with the 7500, installed it today after paying $130 for it. Amazing upgrade! Framerates are of course better, but frametimes are much more consistent as well.

    Upgrading From a Pentium G4560

So, as the title says, I'm ready to upgrade my G4560 to an I5. Going to be sticking with the LGA 1151 socket, and am currently planning only to upgrade the CPU for the time being. My current system is as follows: Pentium G4560 GTX 1060 6GB 8GB DDR4 2133 (going to be upgrading to 16-32GB after I...

Whats CPU is better for GAMING?

First of all, I want to apologize for my (very) incorrect answer. Didn't do my research before I answered. The I3 would work for a desktop, and the I7 is made for compact mobile devices. I'd personally recommend an I5 if your budget permits it, as it'll give about the same performance as an I7...

Whats CPU is better for GAMING?

The I7 would beat the I3 in a heartbeat, but IMO, you'd be better off to save your cash and go with an I5, if it's an option.

    PC Components Compatibility

Everything looks fine to me, although I'm no expert either. Just make sure that the RAM you buy is DDR4. I'd also ensure that the motherboard you picked out supports overclocking (if you're willing to do it), as I feel like you're losing quite a bit by not overclocking a CPU, especially with AMD.

What should my target frametime be?

Considering that I have little to no issue with input lag, and play very few competitive games (I dabble in E-sports from time to time), wouldn't setting fast sync to on be pretty useless? I feel very little difference in most games, and by letting the game run at a high framerate, I'm just...

STEAM Games-Half-life, Counterstrike- will not Open/Play

If we're talking about the original Half-life and Counterstrike, I believe that they're both on the GoldSource engine (Valve's engine before Source). I also believe that they just got an update, so maybe that broke compatibility with some systems? How do other games run? No issues?

I need a review for my build for a $600 gaming PC

I think it looks fine, other than as the user said above, the case is pretty expensive. You don't want a cheap case that falls apart when you poke it with your pinky toe, but when on a budget, your best to just go with a sturdy case that holds everything together. You will see a CPU bottleneck...

What should my target frametime be?

Reguardless of what it is, I tested it in a few games, with pretty good results. In Portal, fast sync gives a solid 5.2 ms at around 150-160 FPS, which feels really smooth. But... 72 FPS capped and 13.3 ms feels just as smooth. Borderlands gives me a mixed framerate of anywhere from 80-200+...

    How is this build?

How much RAM are we talking here? The definite bottleneck, assuming you have sufficient RAM, will be the iGPU. Although they've gotten a lot better over the years, they still won't compare to most dedicated GPUs. However, since Minecraft is CPU-bound and I believe Garry's Mod is pretty light...

What should my target frametime be?

I seem to have answered my own question. The correct Frametime for 72 FPS is 13.8 MS. As for capping the FPS, I've found that capping with Rivatuner at either 60 or 72, depending on the game, gives a better experience than 72 at a variable frametime. Good tips for anyone that's cpu bound...

    Stutter in Minecraft

Have you done a clean reinstall of the game? What speed is your HDD? If it's very, very slow, it can be the issue. Can you maybe tell us your frametime? It can be the issue in certain instances with the lower end cpu's like a 6300.
