Nope. For gaming at least, 6 cores is absolutely fine. You dont need more and you never will. Quite simply, game devs couldn't give a <Mod Edit> about this platform. It's the least important one in terms of sales, while also being the hardest to optimize for. That's why you can still get away...

if i bump my desk ever so slightley, my monitor goes black and i have to force restart my pc to get it on again. all my cables are plugged in correctly. any ideas?
