I'm asking because it's already underclocked and it's already reaching up to 74°C under stress in gaming after a while. It's idling at 42°C.
My Rig:
Windows 7 64 Ultimate
Gigabyte GA-78LMT-S2
AMD FX6300
GTX 460 1GB GDDR5
8GB DDR3 Ram
500W Generic PSU
I believe this is the reason why my temperatures are so high with this GPU. Why is the fan/cooler set to one side of the heatsink insted of directly above it?
I'm running my GTX 460 at about 640Mhz clock and 1350Mhz Memory clock and the voltage is down to about 860mV.
Still the temperature without any use is about 43ºC and with full use it goes up to 83ºC easily. The fan is at Max RPM.
I've already changed the thermal paste with Silver Arctic 5...
I've got 8GB DDR3 Ram and since I keep a lot of Chrome tabs open I tend to use memory cleaners like Clean Ram which is the one I'm using now. Sometimes my RAM will spike up to 70% and when I turn on Clean Ram it goes back down to 40% or something.
And despite what most people say about Ram...
