I know it doesn't support 4.0, I bought it because my next build will. It functions fine at 3.0, it just doesn't read full 5GB/s speed.

The SATA restriction only applies with SATA M.2 SSDs. Not NVME SSDs. Also, here is the GPU-Z screenshot: It says its running "@ x4 3.0"
