How good is the intel i5-4690K in comparison to the AMD A8-6600K when it is NOT overclocked?

Thanks a lot both of you, Synphul the only thing I was interested in really about the Z97 was the prospect of overclocking to improve my gameplay, but after you suggested that I look specifically at the games that I am playing and I honestly see no need to overclock now, like darkbreeze said...

How good is the intel i5-4690K in comparison to the AMD A8-6600K when it is NOT overclocked?

Now you see, I was pretty sure that the i5 would easily outdo the A8... but after what synphul has said it just makes me want to overclock so badly XD. But like you both say, it is still a significant improvement and to be honest, my A8 has very little problems OTHER THAN with open world games...

How good is the intel i5-4690K in comparison to the AMD A8-6600K when it is NOT overclocked?

First of all, thanks a lot for taking the time to read my questions and hopefully you can help, so basically I accidentally ordered an ASrock H97 Pro4 because I didn't know you can not overclock processors using H models, so rather than paying P&P to return it plus the extra £40 for the Z97...

Brilliant thanks a lot, I'll just stick with the H97 for now, as soon as the processor arrives I'll get that sorted ;) thanks a lot guys

Is the Intel i5-4690K still good without overclocking?

Yeah I definetely wish that I had done the research beforehand but now I'm just wondering if the hassle of sorting it and the added cost of postage and package and then the fact that the Z97 is over £40 more I was just wondering if the i5 being unlocked would be sufficient enough to play newer...

Is the Intel i5-4690K still good without overclocking?

I bought the ASRock H97 Pro4 to accompany the i5-4690K I bought, unaware that the H97 is incappable of overclocking. Now after, having the motherboard delivered I have realised this and I am debating whether to send it back in order to get the ASRock Z97 Extreme4, however if the i5 can perform...

What is the difference between the ASRock H97 Pro4 and the Z97 Extreme4?

Thanks a lot, they are literally exactly the same I suppose, just the lack of overclocking unfortunately :/ will the i5-4690k and the H97 be sufficient to play large open world games in max settings do you know? (Eg Dying light)?

What is the difference between the ASRock H97 Pro4 and the Z97 Extreme4?

Thanks for all the responses guys, so overall do you think that seen as I arn't TOO bothered about overclocking I may aswell just stick with H97? Other than the overclocking limitations there isn't much that is worse.

What is the difference between the ASRock H97 Pro4 and the Z97 Extreme4?

First of all I'd like to say thank you for taking the time to read this thread, so the other day I ordered an intel i5-4690K and also the ASRock H97, unaware that this motherboard can not overclock. However, I am unsure of the difference between the two? Shall I just stick with the H97 or shall...

I need help deciding on a motherboard.

In regards to my favourite brand I acctually don't have one in specific, I have only ever had this one build but I am very happy with my motherboard at the moment, I have never had a problem but the current socket is not compatible with the i5. I am basically just looking for a cheap motherboard...

I need help deciding on a motherboard.

Hello, first of all thanks a lot for taking the time to help. So anyway, I ordered an intel i5-4690K earlier today as an upgrade on my current processor and also ordered the ASrock H97 Pro4, unaware that this motherboard is incapable of overclocking due to my lack of research (lesson learned)...
