alright, I'll get the psu you recommended, I've only had my pc running in total about six hours, do you think that is enough to ruin the GPU?

the exact psu is a Thermaltake Smart 500 W 80+ I went onto pcpartpicker to see I could find a new compatible case and motherboard, so here is what my pc would be with a new case but I haven't been able to find a compatible motherboard at a price I'm happy with (is around $100 possible here?)...

I don't think I used the wrong adapter. The PSU i bought had a 24 pin power connector, and I used a 24 pin to 6 pin adapter advertised for this purpose to connect it to the motherboard.
