Dell Inspiron 570 running Windows 10. I have tried all the standard fixes (disabling fast start, not allowing NIC to awaken, editing registry keys, reseating P1 cable and all DIMMs) and my PC will not power down or stay asleep. The PC asts as if something keeps sending a "Power-on" signal to...

Question Gigabyte Z68X-UD3H-B3 (Rev. 1.3) F12 to U1n UEFI BIOS UPDATE

I also discovered that having my Logitech Extreme 3-D joystick plugged in to a USB port blocks uefi from loading. I may but the card back in without the joystick and see if the lock-ups return. I am curious to know if the card or a device plugged into it causes the problem of the BIOS freezing...

Question Gigabyte Z68X-UD3H-B3 (Rev. 1.3) F12 to U1n UEFI BIOS UPDATE

Thank you for the detailed explanation. I have found the cause of my woes with UEFI. I had installed a 3rd party expansion card in one of the PCI-e x1 slots (the really short slot) that gave me 4 more USB 3.0 ports. For some reason that card was causing a conflict whenever the UEFI BIOS tried...

Question Gigabyte Z68X-UD3H-B3 (Rev. 1.3) F12 to U1n UEFI BIOS UPDATE

I never had the Smart6, Dynamic Energy Saver, Smart TPM, or Touch Bios installed as far as I could tell. How do I find these things? I can't get to the boot menu to boot from my flash drive.

Question Gigabyte Z68X-UD3H-B3 (Rev. 1.3) F12 to U1n UEFI BIOS UPDATE

I recently updated the BIOS on my Gigabyte motherboard Z68X-UD3H-B3 (Rev. 1.3) from F12 to U1n, which is UEFI. The flash seemed to go as it should, however, whenever I try to access UEFI, I get the UEFI Dual BIOS screen, but no menu. It's just a frozen screen with no keyboard or mouse response...

[SOLVED] What is the newest video card supported by the GigabyteZ68X-UD3H-B3 motherboard with the Award F12 BIOS?

I was recently given an older 2011 Gigabyte Z68X-UD3H-B3 motherboard with a quad-core Intel Core -7-2600K CPU @ 3.40 GHz and 16 GB DDR3 memory. Will this motherboard support the latest graphics cards? I think this is a "hybrid BIOS" motherboard. The BIOS is version F12 (3/20/2012)

msconfig Advanced Boot Option-Enabling All Cores

New Egg's chat support is about as useless as tits on a boar hog! They can't tell me whether or not the newer ATI cards require a system with UEFI BIOS or if they'll run on a legacy system.

msconfig Advanced Boot Option-Enabling All Cores

Thanks!! What would be a good ATI card with at least 4 GB GDDR5 that won't make my billfold hide in horror?

msconfig Advanced Boot Option-Enabling All Cores

Is it true that the newest video cards require systems with the UEFI BIOS? I can't remember the cut-off point, but I remember being told that the newer video cards after that point require UEFI systems to be picked up and initialized properly. Is that true or is there a work-around to use the...

msconfig Advanced Boot Option-Enabling All Cores

I wouldn't want anything that would run at less than 3 GHZ. I would also want 16 GB RAM ideally. 8 is probably plenty, but I'd like to really "soak it down" with memory.

msconfig Advanced Boot Option-Enabling All Cores

Good morning! I think I've found the real culprit behind my FSX woes! I'm going to reinstall today. I had been installing the FSX Acceleration Pack which includes SP 2 for the flight simulator plus several additional aircraft. I uninstalled the acceleration pack and the lagging and framing...

I have a 650-watt PSU and an nVidia GTX 660TI with 3 GB GDDR5 that could be installed into another machine. Check this machine out. It's a nice one and in a tower. MY PSU and video card would fit in this...
