Just for the record, I finally got the cloning to work, but had to use the Corsair cloning utility, as I could never get the Samsung one to work, it failed to boot. Went from a small Corsair to a larger 840 EVO. (going to put the old Corsair in my 2nd computer).

Good question - I have been trying to clone a small Corsair to a much larger Samsung, and cannot get the Samsung to boot up when using the Samsung cloning program. Still trying to figure this out, but so far have not had much luck.

I had a similar problem with a WD 2TB just a couple days ago. I never figured out what was causing it, but what fixed it was to enter Setup, make no changes, but save the setup (F10 in my case). Why this would fix it I have no idea, unless it had somehow convinced itself that the drive did not...

All you are doing is changing the physical position of the drive. Nothing on the drive will be affected.

Cancel this - it seems to have fixed itself. All I did was open the Setup, made no changes, but re-saved it and it started working again. Now back to that pesky SSD...
