    OC'ing FX8320 on gigabyte UD3

    NAS solution for video editing/animation

Uncompressed HD, especially 4:2:2, steams at 220 mbps. If your working with 422 go with eSATA link on the G-Technology drives. That will give you more than enough speed.

Can I use an Nvidia card for monitor and games and an ati firepro v3900 for video editing?

No. You're going to need two computers or just get a GTX 780.

[Build] High-end PC for future-proof Gaming, Photo/Video Editing

I have almost an identical system with a GTX 780 in it. It's an amazing machine. I haven't been able to stump it yet and I do high end video and gaming on it. Renders 5 mins of uncompressed 2k HD in 7 minutes with color correction and motion graphics. Have fun :)

Ya I think I'm going to go with some SSD. I've never really inserted them into a tower though. Will I need a new holder for them?

    Best NAS for video editing?

I have some lacie drives I use to store my footage on. I don't edit or anything on them, they are simply used as a housing for all the footage. I have two of the Big Laci drives. The two both serve as duplicate backups. Speed isn't they key on them. I actually read that exact same article...
