So the x1 slots will run at 100% speed? and how exactly would that fit? or do you mean just because of the space the x1 slots are taking? Didn't really fully understand.

IMO you could run that system on 500w, not sure why near 900 watt is needed but makes no difference for you, just an option to upgrade stuff I guess.

Well, first off plug the display cable into the motherboard and see if it boots up that way AND doesn't restart. Is this a new build? How much watt is your PSU? did you try it with the 1070 in again(not recommending it)? Do you have another PSU to try? so many questions need to be answered.

I have a 1080 and a 1080 TI taking up quite a bit of room in there and I want to buy another TI soon but my 1080 is covering both slots.. I don't understand how this can be I have quite a good motherboard and you would think it would be designed to handle this...

When I bought my PC it came with these converter things that you put into the 4 pin PSU molex and you can plug 2 fans into 1 molex.
