    Consumer raid cards with slicing

Now I remember..... the card most applicable was the RocketRAID 2300, and it was still for sale back then but rather expensive for me, and I would have gotten around to it had I not destroyed something else ;-). But at a later date I couldn't get it second hand in my country....... hmm...

    Consumer raid cards with slicing

I wanted to reproduce an earlier physical disk setup with 3 harddisks that I lost due to some reasons, but this time as a "virtual" thing projected from RAID while having some performance and redundancy boost. I want to get back to that place I was before for.... reasons so that I can progress...

    Consumer raid cards with slicing

Slicing a raid array means taking a portion of each disk and creating an array out of that, which is presented to the OS as one drive; you can then have say 3 arrays on the same set of disks, e.g. 3 RAID 10 arrays at once over 4 disks. What brands support this? I know Intel does (is supposed...

Deathmatch Heads To 'Overwatch' Alongside New Map, Hero Changes

Blizzard is destroying Overwatch. Their devs revel in people (players) getting frustrated because of overpowered heroes - laugh at it - and then when people want to leave matches, they complain about it. You can't have it both ways, folks. Overwatch was designed to be a friendly game, and now...

Any way for motherboard S/PDIF to nVidia HDMI

Well thank you. Without reading everything back, I don't recall why I wanted this. There doesn't seem much benefit in having the sound card generate the audio that the video card then outputs. As I said the original problem was that my receiver cannot prefer S/PDIF over HDMI audio. I am still to...

USB deviced malfunctioning -- but none plugged in

You won't believe this one. I am embarrased already. This motherboard was lying out of case. A black thumb screw from the case had gone missing. I couldn't find it. It had ended up beneat the motherboard and was causing the issues.

USB deviced malfunctioning -- but none plugged in

I have had the popup one more time. So apparently it isn't solved. Note that there isn't anything actually not working. Everything in the system works. Windows just gives error messages about something not working. There is nothing and I repeat nothing actually failing. If I could turn off...

USB deviced malfunctioning -- but none plugged in

Dude I've never had a problem with this motherboard. There are no IRQ conflicts and the BIOS chip is okay, unless I ruined it with static electricity myself, which I think is pretty much impossible, but I have been touching the thing now and then. Strange thing is after I turned this keyboard...

USB deviced malfunctioning -- but none plugged in

Installing the USB3 drivers did not help. There were no other drivers available. Also the drivers were probably alread included in Windows 10, seeing as that they were from 2013. It is a Asus M5A78L-M/usb3 mobo. That's all I can say. There are no other drivers. The question is whether this can...

USB deviced malfunctioning -- but none plugged in

This motherboard has never had this issue before. It's been running since give or take october of 2015. Unless it has been caused by a recent Windows update, which of course could be possible -- you never know, the pricks -- there is just not going to be an isssue with out of date or missing...

USB deviced malfunctioning -- but none plugged in

I am a bit desperate here. For no reason that I know recently my computer (Windows 10) (fresh install as well) started malfunctioning with regards to the motherboard's usb controller. Very regularly a Windows 10 notification will pop up with the audible sound of it that some USB Device that I...

Any way for motherboard S/PDIF to nVidia HDMI

If you read that, I think you should get a statue erected for you. Jesus christ that was long :p. In any case thank you for the solution or a solution in any case, it is not really a software solution that I was hoping to get, or asking for, or perhaps wanting to know if it existed. All the...

Any way for motherboard S/PDIF to nVidia HDMI

Thanks I'll check it out. At any rate you give an actual answer, and I don't think it would have happened without my "rudeness". For all it's worth, and I think it's worth a lot actually, trying to force people into your way of doing things is the most rude thing there is, it is just also the...

Any way for motherboard S/PDIF to nVidia HDMI

Although I must say that maybe it sounds incomprehensible now that I would want to wire some Windows S/PDIF device over some Windows HDMI device when I don't even want to use HDMI. But the benefit would be that I get better combinations of devices I use in Windows (and Linux as well, perhaps, if...
