Thanks guys. The RAM is in the correct slots. On the motherboard it says version 1.1 - likely the problem then? Frustrating as it says 3000 ready on the box and the vendor stated it didn't need a BIOS update. Is flashing the BIOS still an option? PSU should be fine. Its an EVGA Supernova 850...
