Question Sudden Long Boot Times, ATA/SCSI Hang on HwINFO

BIOS reports 29C CPU, no malware from the scan. I'm beginning to think it's a mobo issue... few more symptoms: Computer will not recognize anything freshly plugged into USB while it's running - it will ONLY do so when they are plugged in for the boot. Anything that tries to interact with...

Question Sudden Long Boot Times, ATA/SCSI Hang on HwINFO

Oh you're right. I should have noted I have a Samsung 990 Pro, which are apparently prone to catastrophic health issues. I'm getting an 84% health rating from CrystalDiskInfo (which I think is not great), however, SAMSUNG Magician also hangs when I try to install it for more dedicated support...

Question Sudden Long Boot Times, ATA/SCSI Hang on HwINFO

Hello, around 18 hours ago my computer suddenly randomly degraded significantly in general. I'll try to explain all the specifics of what happened. I'm leaning towards a graphics card or software issue at the moment but this is so general/random that I figured I'd post here. I'll also note that...

Question Diagnosing whether it's the CPU or mobo that's faulty ?

I did a little bit better testing today with more alternate RAM combinations. I found that the computer simply will not POST whenever ANY B RAM slot is filled. DIMM_B1 and DIMM_B2 having anything in them causes failure - whereas I am currently running fine with A1 and A2 both filled. However...

Question Diagnosing whether it's the CPU or mobo that's faulty ?

I am testing out a computer I was hoping to have just finished when I found that it will simply not POST when any more than 1 RAM slot is filled. I did the usual RAM diagnostics, and found from Googling that this exact issue actually may be caused by the CPU/mobo socketing. Apparently...

[SOLVED] RTX 2070 Super Low fps

Do you have a temperature monitor? I also have this issue with my RTX 2070. I've been searching around and I always see people have a Max temperature of exactly 78 degrees C. I'm not sure if that matters, but it seems odd that it ALWAYS has that temperature when I am getting the worst FPS drops...

[SOLVED] Charge iPhone X in Sleep Mode on Win10

So I used Windows 7 for the longest time, and when I had my phone plugged in before going into sleep mode, it would remain charging until I disconnected it. Now that I'm using Windows 10, this no longer happens. I tried: Going into Device Manager > USB Controllers > USB Root Hub > UNCHECK...

    Question Updating BIOS bricked mobo???

I actually ended up just sticking the RAM in my old system to test, and that recognized them fine, so I think I’m out of self-fixable options now. I’ll just RMA it and get it repaired... time to see if I can keep the watercooling loop intact while also providing the clearance to get the board...

    Question Updating BIOS bricked mobo???

Ah, ok. Yes I have but I fail to POST with the correct BIOS in, so I was hoping resetting CMOS would allow me to boot into the recovery. Not according to the B350-F manual, which says this means No memory detected. The B350-F uses 1 long, 3 short for video.

    Question Updating BIOS bricked mobo???

No problem! I will definitely USB flashing instead of downloading from the internet if I ever try flashing again. I have one last question before I throw in the towel, because I believe I have been trying to clear the CMOS wrong. Am I supposed to provide power while jumping the CLRTC pins...

    Question Updating BIOS bricked mobo???

Yep, RAM was detected perfectly fine before my BIOS update attempt and I haven't touched it since. I just checked to confirm, I used the ASUS EZ Flash option in the BIOS.

    Question Updating BIOS bricked mobo???

My speaker came in. Got 1 long beep, 2 short beeps, which is the RAM as I expected from the little light that replaces the speaker functions. Is it possible to boot into BIOS without RAM? Or is RAM always a necessity even for BIOS running? I could have sworn I saw someone recommend running your...

    Question Updating BIOS bricked mobo???

I'll be honest I don't remember exactly what I did anymore, but I was in BIOS. I know I pressed F2 at boot to enter the BIOS, then I somehow ended up coming across a button that said "Update BIOS" verbatim, remaining in the BIOS the entire time. It may have been in the Advanced category...

    Question Updating BIOS bricked mobo???

Oh oh my god I completely forgot there are SPKR pins on the system panel. No wonder I wasn't getting any sound... I had them plugged into line out. My case doesn't have a 4pin speaker though so I'll have to pick one up from somewhere, but then I can finally get some beep codes. I suppose now...
