I got my PC back from the repair shop and he said that its the motherboard because it's not detecting the ram in other channels and the GPU works in a different motherboard PCIE slot with no problems. Just to be sure, i've asked to return both the motherboard and GPU. Fingers crossed!

Yes, and i have tried to put it in a different slot as i thought perhaps it was sharing the power between the main PCIE and the M.2 slot.

Yes you are right, they aren't 'dead' per se, but something isn't functioning nominally. I just wonder why the RX 480 works in the main pcie, but this doesn't. Also probably useful to mention that BIOS displayed that PCIE was running at x8 rather than x16 in the main slot.

I have contacted Gigabyte to see if they can provide a response but I don't expect I will hear back from them any time soon. I do think that it could be a compatibility issue, but i have been told that it is not uncommon for new components to be DOA.
