    Okay, thank you for the advice! My drive is 2TB. There is a signal and the PC looks fine now. I checked the log file, and it did scan, and with no problems found. I have the strange feeling that my PC comes with no interface for running CHKDSK on restart, but I don't know.

If it got to 100%, does that mean that all the zero-filling and sector checking was done, but it failed to complete the last step of setting up the partition as ntfs? I'm just guessing here...
