Ok, but what if Core Temp and Asus GPU Tweak (or whatever GPU tweak you happen to use) both report that temperatures are normal? Where's the problem?

Is cable management as important as it once was now that ribbon cables are out of fashion?

A BD-ROM means it's a Blu Ray Disk "Read Only Memory". The DVD Rewriter part means it can read AND write DVDs. Therefore you cannot burn blu ray disks, only read them. You need to look for a drive stating BD-R/BD-RW capable.

Try taking your RAM out and reseating it. If that doesn't resolve the issue, try testing each chip individually to locate the faulty chip(s).

Sounds like a possible hardware issue. If you still have a warranty might be worthwhile contacting the manufacturer. Before you do anything, though, can you open DEVICE MANAGER and see if it can detect your microphone & webcam?
