My systems psu have been repeatedly failing. I've a 9 yr old p4 which I didn't replace since I dont do much intensive computing. The electrician says that my house's old wiring might be damaging it . My 15 year old tv has gone bad too recently though the lights and fans run fine for a long time...

But AMD's potential clocks seem tremendous compared to what Intel has achieved. Even if the improvement is 25-30% at 32nm, it's quite high. Even that much can give a 80-90% improvement in performance at same power vs 45nm no HKMG. Intel's 32 vs 45nm is not that radical though. If all goes well...

Sorry if this question is a bit late but really according to IBM http://www-03.ibm.com/press/us/en/pressrelease/23901.wss apparently using HKMG can give a 40% boost. Does that really mean you could get a 4ghz + Phenom II at 45nm? that might even beat Nehalem at the same Power Consumption. But...

The *2.93 ghz coming at $562 and the 2.66 at $196 makes it sound a bit fishy... Wonder what the 2.8 ghz one costs though (maybe around $300)

Umm when did they say the hexa core 32nm would come in q4? Didn't they already say dual cores 32nm in q4 and six core processors in H1 2010? And H1 2010 = q2 to q4 2010 usually... There are plenty of things that will be using this... Mainly help for more multitasking... A lot of apps like video...
