Build system on Windows 7 (not genuine) and then pay for Windows 10?

I would like to install it today instead of waiting for a Windows 10 OEM disc to arrive in the mail. And no, I'm not trying to pirate it.. Read my original post.

Build system on Windows 7 (not genuine) and then pay for Windows 10?

Hi guys. I'm currently rebuilding a system that currently has genuine Windows 10 on it. I'm swapping out the hard drive for an SSD and putting in a new motherboard and processor as well, so I need to reinstall the OS. I have a Windows 7 OEM disc, but its product code has already been used. I'm...

    Critique my budget desktop build

The person I'm building this for currently has a 17", 1024x1024 Samsung and wanted to get something bigger and sharper. I've had good experiences with Viewsonics so that has to stay unless there's some crazy good deal on another one. Are there any differences between the ASRock motherboard I...

    Critique my budget desktop build

I changed the cpu to an Intel Celeron. A few sites said it had better performance. PCPartPicker part list: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3QhdE Price breakdown by merchant: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3QhdE/by_merchant/ Benchmarks: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3QhdE/benchmarks/ CPU: Intel Celeron G540...

    Critique my budget desktop build

This computer will be for internet browsing and Microsoft office. I want to keep it under $500 including the monitor. Is there anything I could change to save money or get better performance? PCPartPicker part list: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3Qgua Price breakdown by merchant...

Is there anything else this could need?

This looks like an excellent build, I just have a couple of recommendations. - Get rid of the sound card. Your motherboard has the same sound quality. - The Fractal Design R4 has better cooling and IMO looks better than the Antec 900. It's $20 cheaper with a promo code on newegg...

What do you think of my build?

Better performance/price. The SSD is only useful for a few games and the OS. If you get rid of the SSD altogether you could afford a better graphics card. And I agree with Tiny Voices on the motherboard. Stay away from MSI. Use ASRock, Asus, or Gigabyte.

Evga GTX 770 running slow. Please help!

What brand power supply is it? Download HWMonitor and let it run while you're gaming, then tell us its temperature.

    A new 4k gaming pc

The 800 series shouldn't be out until late this year. I think you should hold off building a 4k gaming pc until then. Buy a cheaper card (760 or so) and game on a cheap 1080p monitor until then maybe?

Help Graphics Card Slide Out Of Socket While On!!!

This is kind of a stupid question, but have you tried plugging it back in? I had the same thing happen a long time ago, and the card was still fully functional even after a little bit of smoke.

Can these parts work with my set up?

In my experience most HP power supplies have 18 amps on the 12+, which is 2 amps short but still enough to run it reliably. But it's best to play it safe I guess.

Can these parts work with my set up?

Yep, they should both work. If you are only running a GTX 750, it should be able to run on the computer's stock power supply. Maybe buy the GTX 750 first, and if it runs 100% on the current power supply, then you don't have to buy the new power supply.

Will the Phenom II X4 OC botttleneck this gpu?

It shouldn't bottleneck it too much. You should still be able to achieve ultra @ 720p on those games. It might struggle to reach ultra at 1080p though.
