I swapped my PSU & no success. My friend is gonna mail it back to them. I'm still trying to figure out what went wrong with it. My friend only had for about 5 months.

So I tested the 1070 on a different PSU & same thing just happened....it froze the moment things started loading on my desktop.

Yeah they told my friend that they'll replace it & mail him another one in 3 days. But before mailing to them, we're just going to make sure if it works on his rig. If it does work, then most likely it would be my PSU.

I'm kind of hoping that it isn't my motherboard causing the UEFI issue cause that will suck. But if it was my motherboard, wouldn't it had cause issue with my 1060? I'm honestly considering letting my friend mail it back to EVGA but we'll do the tests first.

So would you just recommend to test the card out on a new PSU & on my friends rig?

Could try another PSU & hope for the best. Or I could just let my friend mail it back to EVGA & get another card. But first we'll test on his rig again just to make sure.

I always get my driver from Nvidia site. From my 950 to my 1060 & never had issue on those cards. I also did try downloading a older drive for the 1070 to see if it was a driver issue with the new drive & no i still get the same issue.

Do I check from the BIOS or their website? Sorry if that's a dumb question to ask. Also a final thought, I notice that when I finish the installation drive for the 1070, I lose signal to the internet & as well when it's restarts my internet is not connected. But when it's the 1060, my internet...

Do you think that there's a possibility that the card might of gotten defective?

My friend already contacted EVGA since his card is still under warranty. They told him just to mail the card to them & they'll sent another one. Just find it a bit odd that his card worked well on his rig while on my rig even tho it did boot up & played my game for a good 15 mins until that happen.

So to my understanding, whenever I uninstall the drivers for the 1070 it doesn't freeze up when I boot it up but whenever I do install the driver again it freezes.

I tried the method that you told me & just when I thought it worked.....it froze again. Everything on my desktop was loading fine but after it froze again.
