Nvidia popped up a message that my drivers were out of date (Win XP-64), so I downloaded and installed the Nvidia drivers. Note that my graphics card has Nvidia chipset, but made by MSI. Upon reboot, the screen was missing desktop icons, came up another time with lines all over the screen...
