Question ryzen 5 3600 speed issue

Thank you for the info. I'll pass on the OC for now, I've upgraded from a really weak cpu so now I'm just happy. Wanted to make sure this weird spike in speed is nothing wrong. I'll learn more about it for sure, but first need to get a better cooler just in case. It's just weird that it reports...

Question ryzen 5 3600 speed issue

ok so I played some games and apparently speed doesn't go beyond 4.2 (of course) and cpu temp is 70 max. performance is great, the only concern I have is not to damage my system by this unintentional overclocking (if I may call it that)

Question ryzen 5 3600 speed issue

thanks, I've installed the chipset drivers and have put the ryzen balanced power plan. It's still however jumping between 3.6 and 4.0 in task manager. Is this just a visual thing and my hardware is not in danger or do I need to make sure somehow else?

Question ryzen 5 3600 speed issue

Hi, Just installed a ryzen 5 3600, its base speed is apparently 3.6 GHz, but it's usually running close to 4.0. I haven't changed anything and never overclocked in my life, not sure if this is something that's supposed to be happening. Shouldn't its speed be capped at 3.6 even though it's...

    [SOLVED] Gaming On a budget?

ah yeah, I know the feel very well. I actually didn't know my monitor was capped at 59hz, so for the past 3 years this was my life and I thought it was a good pc build. Just got a 144hz yesterday and it's night and day. Shopping spree commenced, now I've taken a bit off my savings to get a ryzen...

    [SOLVED] Gaming On a budget?

nope, it has +12% on the radeon one. if you scroll down to details you can also see where exactly it's slightly faster. I'm not a big fan of radeon gpus, I've read a bunch that they generally have overheating problems and have less lifespan than nvidia. they are however cheaper. when I was...

    [SOLVED] Gaming On a budget?

yep, as long as it's not a MINI-atx, you should be fine. I actually just installed exactly the same motherboard 5 minutes ago. the reason you should go for a micro atx mobo is because it's cheaper and more compact. it usually does not offer multi-gpu set ups and sometimes has 2 ram slots instead...

    [SOLVED] Gaming On a budget?

for sure. running csgo is a piece of cake for a budget build. the build that Hellfire13 suggested is great, and I'd also recommend investing in a 144hz monitor. you can get a decent one at around £ 170 I'd say and such a monitor helps out in first person shooters.
