Did you make sure that the app is not blocked by a firewall?

I'm trying to repurpose an older computer as a NAS, but while it recognizes being connected to a wired or wireless network, internet browsing doesn't work (ERR_NETWORK_ACCESS_DENIED), and it doesn't recognize any other computers on the network (though there are 3 which all recognize each other)...
