I have a HP Pavilion laptop with an i7-7500u and a gt 940mx. It plays games as expected although runs hot, about 50c when it's been idling for a bit and the heatsink has equalised temperature, up to 80c when stressed. At this temperature I'd expect some thermal throttling, which it does, going...
