auto brightness

I have a Surface Laptop 2 and hate the auto brightness feature, so I disabled it in the windows settings and the laptop is still changing randomly changing the brightness after rebooting it. Everything I can find on google is talking about their Surface Pros or Books, is there a way to fix this...
