I used bottleneck calculator today and I have a 0.4% bottleneck in GPU-intensive tasks at 2560x1440. But under CPU-intensive tasks I have a 21% bottleneck... It says my CPU isn't fast enough and that I should upgrade it despite it being the last of the line on the am4 platform. Can anyone help...
My name is @Vikko151, a very new Tom's Hardware Forum member, but I already participated to some forums, so I know a little bit how it works.
I've got the following PC build :
Motherboard: ASUS H97-PLUS (able to overclock)
OS: Windows 10
CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-4790
Hello, so basically I upgraded my pc a while ago and since then my frames have been dropping (or staying the same) when they should be higher.
-Motherboard: Asrock steel legend b450
-Ram: Crucial Ballistix 2x8GB ddr4 3000 mhz
-Gpu: Rtx 3060 12GB
-Cpu: Ryzen 5 1600AF
Hey, i just bought a new computer, and i played PUBG and Sea Of Thieves on it, and i noticed that the CPU was running at 70-90% while the GPU was running at 10% MAX. Is there any CPU's you guys would recommend me buying that is around $280 dollars that will prevent the bottlenecking?
The game uses DX12 as the API, weirdly enough I get the same FPS on any setting (extra low-high at 1080p)
I get around 23 fps - 32 fps (23 on crowdy areas, 30s on less crowdy areas) , yes the framecap is on 60 , I only get 60s on the main menu and the pause menus, I get around 40s on cutscenes...
I just bought an Aorus RX 6700 XT that I installed in my current rig :
I7 7700, 16GB RAM (2133 mhz), SSD 500GB, Corsair VS 650 watts
It came in replacement of a RTX 3050, because I found I had low performances with it.
But I still have (REALLY) low performances with this new card...
I get unusually low frames running valorant, my previous build was as follows :
Gpu : Msi geforce rtx 2080ti ventus
cpu : ryzen 1600x oc'ed to 4.5 ghz
mobo : asus crosshair vi (wifi)
ram : corsair vengance 16 gigs at 3200
i used to get around 120 - 140 on low running on 1280x960
I was wandering if rtx 3090 Ti works well with Ryzen 7 5800x ? My rtx 3080 got broken and I'm planning on getting rtx 3090Ti. Should I upgrade the cpu as well?
I am can not decide if rtx 3090 will be sufficient or should I go for 3090ti.
Will be using it on 49 inch G9 samsung...
Can someone let me know how much bottlenecking I can expect from i5 4460, or can someone help me pick a 4th gen CPU that will eliminate/minimise the bottlenecking, as my current mobo only supports 4th Gen.
Thank you, new to builds/upgrades.
Was looking at going for a brand new build but I think...
Will an i9 9900 (non K or KF) bottleneck a 3070 Ti?
The i9 9900 is the max supported i9 for my motherboard (TUF B365M Plus Gaming) and I want the BEST possible. The i9 9900K isn't supported according to my MOBO support page. But I'm just going off of that.
So will this CPU bottleneck my GPU? I...
I have Intel 4790K, ASUS Z97 PRO Gamer, GSkill16GB DDR3, Crucial P2 NVME PC. Earlier I was using Asus Strix GTX970 with this setup but my Graphics Card gets faulty. I have full Dell P2419H monitor that is 1080p60Hz.
I have to build a new PC but not now. Now I have to buy a new Graphics Card...
I'd like to know what is bottlenecking my system. I play mostly Fortnite at 1440p resolution and I'm getting way lower fps than I expected. Task manager shows CPU usage at most 40% and no single core is used even close to 100%. GPU usage is 40-55%. Temperatures are not a problem on either...
So I have a GTX 1650 SUPER paired with an i5 11400,
and I'm having this problem for quite a while now that in some highly CPU demanded games like Assassin's Creed Origins or Assassin's Creed Odyssey(this problem is quite prominent in these two games but its also in some other CPU intensive games...
hello guys, yesterday i bought an rtx 2060 6gb and i gotta say im really dissapointed.
(,my cpu is i7 7700 and i have 8gb ram)
in all games i went, the fps wasnt as expected, for example, i went to pubg with low settings, got only 90-100, in benchmarks i have seen people get this in ultra and in...
I think my CPU is bottlenecking my PC, I checked with NVIDIA performance overlay (since MSI afterburner crashes games), the CPU utilization was always 100% for all cores while the GPU was 98-99% in one game (AC Odyssey) and around...
I have a reallllyyyy old Intel i3-330M on my laptop, with a Hard Disk and a single channel 2GB DDR3 Ram. I'm currently able to run Windows 10 on it but only just. I was wondering if I should upgrade but I'm a little suspicious whether my CPU will support 6GB of DDR3 or Even 4GB in dual channel...
Hey, I recently bought an rtx 3060 and i5 7600k system and wanted to play some games, I noticed that my fps for csgo on max 1080p was around 150 fps with frequent dips to 5 fps or so. My temperatures are fine at around 60c when playing. Is this normal?? I have 2400mhz dual channel ram as well...
Hi there people!
I was hoping someone could help me determine if i am bottlenecking myself with my current setup.
Air flow is pretty consistent, with CPU watercooling and otherwise 6 fan flow.
My current setup is this:
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7700K CPU @ 4.20GHz 4.20 GHz...
I want to buy a new cpu and I don't know if the cpu will bottleneck the gpu (our vice versa) ?
Also, I play in 4k so it can reduce the bottleneck.
Processor: Intel i5-11600k 3.9GHz/4.9GHz
GPU: Asus RTX 2070 ROG Strix OC 8GO
Thanks in advance !
I just paired a RTX 3060 12GB with a Ryzen 5 3600x, 16GB RAM DDR4, and ran a 3DMark Time Spy test. My GPU scored 8,235 and my CPU 6,607. Will the GPU bottleneck the CPU or vice versa? Would it be worth it to get the Ryzen 7 3700x, or is this build okay, considering that I only play in 1080p at...
I couldn't work and play games effectively due to my outdated CPU :disrelieved:

Hi! I have a i5-2400 cpu paired with a gtx 1050 ti, as i don't play very demanding titles (most of the time i play f1 2019 and euro truck simulator 2) this wasn't a problem till' 1 month ago when i bought f1 2021. On f1 2019 i played on a combination of high and ultra at 50-60fps, and so i...
i recently upgraded my gpu and change the motherboard, i changed from gtx 750 to 960
and after i tried playing games i notice that my cpu usage sky rocketting like it stays on 100% while my gpu barely hits 60, neither i set the graphic to high or low, or recommended setting, the fps stays the...
I know it seems like a very dumb question, but I just had to ask to surely know and to quench my curiosity. Whenever someone is talking about bottlenecking it's always more on the gaming performance part, well that is because of the obvious fact that a lot of people game than do...
Hey I'm planning to buy a gtx 980 and I was wondering if the i3 10100 would be enough for the gtx 980 or do I need to get the 10400 I have a super low budget so I would like to keep the 10100 but if it's going to cause major fps loss I can probably get the 10400.
Hello, so I was wondering if getting a RTX 3060ti is a bad idea with i5 7600k because of a very likely bottleneck. I got a 1440p monitor for a very good price couple months back and was trying to find a suitable replacement for my almost 6 years old R9 290X. At first I was aware of bottleneck...
While I'm playing BF5 my GPU usage is always up to 62-63% in online. It never goes up. So it my CPU must be bottlenecking my RTX 2060 but I have checked for lots of bf5 tests for any kişnd of bottlenecks I have never seen a situation like that. It might be bottlenecking on those tests but not...
My specs are currently:

I have a PC that I want to upgrade that can game and edit videos for my youtube channel really well. Don't really care about 4K video, 1080p 60fps is fine for gaming and videos...
So I have a Xeon 1220 v3 and a gt 1030 but i'm looking to upgrade my gpu to an rx 580 8gb I want to know will this cause much of a bottleneck with the cpu and will i be able to last with this bottleneck for 2 years or will i need a better cpu before then ?
Hello, I have a few questions about bottlenecking and just performance in general.
I plan to upgrade my computer within the next 3 or so months, but I got the rtx 3080 as it's REALLY hard to get it.
But I don't really see any performance gains, especially in Dota 2 1440p.
I got the card to...
Hello. I have an EVGA RTX 3080 coupled with an Intel i7-8700K processor. My average FPS in Cyberpunk 2077 is 65FPS, but I'm noticing that my CPU is taking the hit here. As said in the title, I checked through a recording of task manager through OBS that my CPU usage is hitting 95-100% while my...
I have a Ryzen 5 2600 that is currently paired with a GTX 1660 Black Edition 6GB. I had recently purchased an MSI RTX 3070 and was wondering how much will it bottleneck and if its critical that I upgrade my CPU as well? What will happen if I don't upgrade a CPU?
2x8GB HyperX RAM
Asus Prime B450M-A
I hope all of you are doing well and taking care of yourselves.
A question. Considering that the i3-9100F is a budget CPU (albeit being 3.6 GHz with 4 Cores), is it likely to be a bottleneck should I pair it with a new RTX 3070, thereby giving me lower frames than what is ideally expected? If...
I have an Intel Core i5-8400 and an RTX 3070 and I'm noticing that in some games (like Call of Duty Cold War) the CPU it's at 70-99% usage while the GPU sticks at 50-70%. It seems like it is bottlenecking, and I would love to change my CPU in order to avoid that bottleneck, but without spending...
I run a ryzen 1500x, asrock ab350m pro, 2- 2x8 sets of xpg z1 2666 ddr4(16gb), msi gtx 1070, and a crucial mx 500 1tb m.2 ssd.(no oc on any) I bought most of the parts during the time when ram prices were insane and pc gaming was just more expensive to hop into. I know I am being bottlenecked...
So, I found a great bargain and now i'm contemplating to buying it. My current setup is I5-7600k, 16GB 3200MHZ DDR4 ram and a gtx 1060 6gb OC card and the new one would be rtx2080/I7-10700k.
I have two options:
1) I waste all of my spare money for rtx2080/I7/16gb 3200mhz setup
