cpu and memory speed

I realised that the speed of the RAM i got (3600Mhz) is higher then the rated speed for my CPU (Ryzen 7 2700x). I also have a b450 Steel Legend. Im not sure if that makes a difference. If i were to jut put in the ram and boot up my system will it be fine? Will the RAM speed be automatically set...

I'm looking at picking up a Ryzen 9 5900x or a 5 5600x and pairing it with some Corsair dominator platinum memory. I've been reading, but I don't completely understand how to best match memory speed with the CPU. In reading it sounded like a consensus of a good memory speed for one of these CPUs...
