So, here is th deal:
with nothing better to do during this quarantine, I found some old pc games and thought it would be a good idea to format a computer I had to install Windows XP on it, since these games don't work on modern operating systems. And what a joy was to hear that distinct sound...
When I try to play a game that uses DirectX 9, my computer will freeze after sometime. The screen will completely freeze and the sound will repeat itself as a buzzing. Any game that uses other DirectX versions (10, 11, 12, etc...) won't freeze.
GPU : Radeon RX 570
8 Gb of RAM
My laptop (xps l501x)
It comes with a core i5 -460M
And when I opened it up , I found it was socketed rather than soldered
If I want to, can I swap it out for something else ?
Maybe at least a processor of the same chipset family
