eject

Ok, I've had this problem for quite a while, but Since I haven't been using the drives much anymore, you just sort of forget about these things. But now...... Currently Connected to my system is an LG MoDisc BluRay/DVD/CD combo Drive, but the same happens for any other [optical] drive i connect...

I have a Thinkpad w530, love it. I took out the DVD and put a HDD caddy. Windows 7 I changed all settings related to the USB auto eject, but after a long period it still shows it wants to eject it. These days I leave the file explorer open to prevent it from happening - as the drive is "in use"...

I am trying to download extra files for a game on my laptop and it says the disk is full, so I went out and bought a terabyte of external space and I don't know how to download files directly to that external storage space. Please help and thank you.
