ethernet does not have a valid ip

So I just got fiber optic internet installed. The wifi works fine for the fiber modem. My ethernet however, is unidentified and cannot establish a connection no matter what I do. Is the Cat5e cable not good enough for the fiber internet, do I need a better one? I have 3 different ethernet cables...
