gtx 980 ti msi

When I plug in my Hdmi cable into my GPU (msi armor 2x geforce gtx 980 ti 6gb) it freezes randomly when i launch in windows and just doesn't work when using Linux. But when i plug the hdmi cable into myy motherboard both operating systems work completely fine, windows doesn't freeze and linux...
